The Box Full of Evil expansion for Hellboy the board game includes the "Darkness Calls" expansion, "Hellboy in Mexico" expansion, and five stretch goals from the Hellboy Kickstarter. There are Four scenarios total, and several more cards for the Case Files Construction System. The Darkness Calls expansion includes one new agent, Henry Hood, and back up agent "Giant Wolf" with figure. The expansion has players battling an undead army that includes one boss and two mini bosses. The two scenarios for this expansion are both long, but one is a medium challenge rating and the other is a hard challenge rating. New Horde rules has a Fiend enemy placed on a special card, and every time a minion is placed the yellow test die is rolled and rolling a one has an additional minion placed. This causes more minions to be placed on the board, and if an enemy cannot be placed than the Fiend that is on the special card will be placed instead. This is tough as the game already comes with five different skeleton enemy types as minions. This allows the missions to actually feel like players are fighting an entire army of the undead. The Hellboy in Mexico expansion gives players four new agents that are Luchadors, which includes Hellboy in a matching wrestling outfit. The main enemies in this set are vampires and bats (4 new enemy types). The two scenarios game lengths and difficulties are long with Medium challenge rating, and the other is medium with a Hard challenge rating. Each Luchador brings different skills that allow them all to protect one another, and create attacks that play off of other agents. The new game boards are an underground labyrinth and wrestling ring pieces. The expansion also gives additional requisition cards (which includes other luchador masks), encounter cards, and Deck of Doom cards. Each set of cards can also be easily added to the base game of Hellboy.Box Full of Evil expansion gives players one convenient box to house two expansions, and the five kickstarter exclusive enemies that can be added to any adventure. The additional Case File Construction System make for some really unknown possibilities when creating a unique case. The amount of enemies found in these two expansions are quite a bit, and "Darkness Calls" gives the most amount of different enemies and bosses to fight. The Luchador agents found in "Hellboy in Mexico" are really different from the Agents in the base game. Esteban takes injuries and turns them into devastating attacks that affect all enemies in the room. El Hermano Vengativo can take the place of another agent being damaged in the same room, and El Hermano Estoico can stun enemies. Luchador Hellboy may advance the Information Gathered track when he rolls and orange die after defeating an enemy. These are just some of the new abilities that each new Luchador agent brings to the game. What is great is the Luchador masks that are added to the requisition deck allow other agents to be treated as Luchadors, which is sometimes a requirement for the abilities being used. This expansion gives a great amount of enemies that all have a thematic connection, but can be used to give a different feeling in other scenarios, or constructed case files. This is a great addition to the Hellboy board game, and it is a nice convenient way of having two expansions in one box.Teaching the game: Pay attention to rules required to use some of the new agent abilities as acquiring a new luchador mask may be required. Emphasize the dangers of some of the minion enemies as they can be devastating when they are allowed to attack like Crypt Spirit.
