I thought when I first ordered the umbrella that it would have a crank handle to roll open...but then noticed it was a pulley rope, I thought I would give it a try, and so far am happy with it. I love Sunbrella products.Beautiful red sunbrella umbrella, very well built.A little over priced but good quality.love Love love it!! the yellow is as bright as our sun in sunny South Florida!Was expecting a thick stem for the umbrellaI am disappointed in the quality of the wood frame for the price. It appears to be some sort of composite. It was also advertised to be made in the U.S. And the box says made in China. The canopy is very satisfactory. I was replacing an umbrella made of teak which I have had for over 25 years and wanted one that was the same quality.More of a composite plastic than a composite wood, and mechanism to raise umbrella is challenging.Surprised at the bad reviews. This is identical to the one I bought 17 years ago and about to finally replace. Never seen a more sturdy or long lasting umbrella. The canvas type material is durable and the wood frame is stronger than any metal or aluminum you can buy. Unless something has changed I would never buy anything else. Not sure about the complaints about wood composite. The 8 ribs were perfect. We don't even need to collapse this in a thunderstorm. The only reason I am replacing is we lost the finale and the top of the wood frame started to rot. Otherwise PERFECT except $50 bucks for shipping. That is excessive.
