The lights work fine. What I did not know is there is a switch at the tip of one of the ribs of the umbrella! My mistake. it works just fine now. I have solar lights all over my yard and did not know the umbrella even had a switch. . I am glad they provided a "bag" to hold sand. I ended up putting that over the cross base and then stacking pavers on top of it. I may get sand in the future. I would definitely buy one of these again for another area of my yard.LED lights are too dim to be useful. I love the color and it’s very well constructed.This is a great umbrella for the price. I was worried it wouldn’t be sturdy enough or flimsy. But I was so happy when I put it together. Assembly was a little difficult for 1 person but I got it done. It comes with the sand bag so I just needed sand. The umbrella is heavy and hard to get up and down due to the weight but manageable.Had this umbrella just over two months when the metal bent and broke near the top making it unusable. I was just past my warranty window. I emailed the seller to report my issue and was mailed a new umbrella at no cost to me (5 stars for customer service!) Hopefully this new one is a little more durable, as we are always careful to fold it down daily, and if there is any wind at all. Fingers crossed! Easy to assemble.This umbrella really makes the deck. It's great for shade during the day, for keeping a light rain off, or for enjoying an evening on the deck with the LED lights making it both beautiful and functional.Vey strong and sturdy great quality umbrella I see it lasting a few seasons well just need a good supporting stand to hold it sturdyLove the color, it looks sturdier than it probably is( just got it). Better assembly directions would be very helpful. The arm that the umbrella hangs from does not stay put, the slightest breeze has it rotating away from where you want the shade. Have done some creative rigging to help with that. All in all you get what you pay for, if you are using it in a area that receives NO wind it will work just fine. It does brighten up a dull corner of our pool area.
