This is a solid plyo box. It is made from a thick, probably .75" plywood. It does require assembly, but the pieces fit well together and there are pre-drilled holes to add the fasteners so it is pretty quick & easy to put together. I feel confident standing or jumping on it, that it is going to withstand whatever I put it through. One thing I dislike is the handle cutouts are placed on the smallest (16x18") surface of the box. So, when doing jumps at the highest (20") height, you are jumping on a small surface with a slot in it. The handle slots would have been better placed on the 20" surface, which is larger and it would affect landing shorter jumps less..I have a 20"/24"/30" box that cost way more and is made by a well know maker for the CF games. In comparison:- the Zukam box has the height dimensions etched on all sides of the box, whereas the other brand does not. I like seeing it, so this is a plus for me.- the other box came pre-assembled and has no exposed fasteners. Not a huge deal, but still a plus for the other brand.- the edges of this box and on the handles are sharp corners on the Zukam box and as such, are a bit sharp to the touch. The other brand has all radiused corners for a better feel.- the Zukam box has a sheen on the plywood, whereas the other brand does not. While this makes the Zukam box look really nice, it is slippery. If you jump on it in socks, it could be bad news, lol. So looks great but maybe not the most practical.Overall, this is a great "stepping stone" box (haha) if you are looking to build up to the standard box heights or even just want to stay at this level!
