Items works great if your able to strap the four corners down. On mine I could not. Gust of wind blew and it flipped up the canopy and immediately broke a piece inside the umbrella. 3 stars is fair because I couldn’t strap it down the way it’s meant to be. Part my fault.Seems well made, used it about 3 times now, no complaints.It seems reasonable quality, The mount is useless for most small boatsOn small boats you are likely to have only a rail/hand on the center console.. The rail is only 3 inches from the side of the consol. However if you try to install on the hand rail... the mount with bolts and etc sticking out will not fit/hits the fiberglass. And you can't rotate so the hole for the pole is vertical. The picture in AD shows a horizontal mounting while the instructions are for a vertical mounting. Obviously it makes no sense to mount on a bow rail on sides of a boat... 2 of the straps would have to be anchored in the water. So it needs to be installed on center of boat to shade the boat and some one sitting on the console seats...We only used this as a sun shade 2-or-3 times, 2-of the fiberglass ribs snapped off at the connection points.These broke just opening or closing, no wind or miss use. Very poor quality ribs. Would not buy again.I hoped that I could use it to cover the cockpit of my bow rider. The only way to connect it is on a rail. I wanted to place it in the middle of the deck. The support pole is very short and small. Couldn't make it work.Fine but not big enough and didn’t like the mountThis is my second purchase, Lost first on trip to Al, wind took it off the deck (Not in its mount-my mistake) and Sank before my eyes! But they are Great Quality and Clever Design. They let wind pass without turning the umbrella inside out. But the rain stays OUT. Great for areas with little to no shade, you can easly bring it with you. Easy to stow and take very little room. I keep them in a 16 foot Tracker style bass boat with limited space. So Nice I bought two this past purchase. Enjoy !High quality umbrellas. Very impressed with the heavy duty mounting system. We bought two and are always in the shade now wherever we sit in the boat. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the quality from Magma. We have owned one of their BBQs for the past 15 years. Our original boat sank and was on the bottom of the lake for ten days with the BBQ in it. Still using it and never had to replace any of the parts.
