According to a Jalopnik article, the 1988 Toyota truck may be the most reliable vehicle ever made. I bought this for my 88 Toyota 4WD with the 22R engine with EFI (electronic fuel injection) and no turbo. The original Toyota part is no longer made. It lasted 28 years, hence, it made sense to me to invest in a proper replacement, and as far as I know, this is as good as it gets, but I'm not a car parts specialist.My local Toyota service department agreed to install this for me, perhaps because it's so rare they can't get a Toyota part for one of their customers. My service advisor said this unit required a bit of wiggling to make it fit and work with my new master cylinder, but that they eventually went together. I think they'll be fine. If not, I know where to take them.honesty clause: I am really ignorant about what alternatives exist out there for a part like this. I got it because Cardone appears to be been-around-for-awhile-ish, and because Amazon is very reputable and good with returns. I spent time at the Cardone website first.
