This is a weird interest of new technology for me, as I find the form factor different from any other headphone technology to be really, really interesting. As such, I have many pairs of many examples of bone conduction headphones, from manufacturers such as Damson, Panasonic, and others. This set is the only one I will actually wear with any regularity.Sound quality is just naturally going to be a little lacking, just because of the unusual nature of the vibration delivery. But these are still the best example you'll find, and are at least listenable. They're a bit midrange-heavy compared to nearly anything else you'll hear out there. But it actually becomes less noticeable because of the balance with all of the rest of the sound around you.I will actually pair this wired set with a Bluetooth receiver (currently FiiO BTR1 Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier ) instead of using even AfterShokz' own Bluetooth offerings. The portion of these headphones actually on your head are so light that *you will forget you are wearing them* when they are not actively playing music. I've found that specifically moving weight from off your head to elsewhere on your body really increases long-term comfort wearing these things. I use these in an office environment, and I leave them on the whole day. I then have instant access to audio from music, or for taking calls, pretty much whenever I want it. Because the Bluetooth receiver already has a built-in microphone, I actually have no need for one on these headphones, and they would actually get in the way.The only real flaw I've found with these headphones is the auto-shutoff. It takes a significant amount of both time and volume to wake them up from their internal sleep period. There is no method for disabling this, and it does actually make using them significantly more cumbersome. I've contacted AfterShokz over twitter about this, but I do not suspect they are likely to make such a change any time soon.
