Premium Cappuccino Marble Mosaic Tile - Random Strip Pattern, Polished Finish - Box of 5 Sheets (10 sq ft) - Perfect for Kitchen Backsplash, Bathroom Wall, and Shower Floor Tile Installation

After five years, I finally decided on a backsplash tile for my kitchen and ordered my sea turtle mosaic, but needed a complementary, neutral background tile, but didn't want too plain. The sand-colored random-strip was perfect, but all I could find were tile shops that could order me travertine or marble strips at $23sf or more (as high as $65sf), and I was definitely hoping to stay under $20sf after spending far too much on my baby sea turtles.I found this marble tile but was unsure about purchasing construction materials on amazon.com, but went ahead and ordered the sample sheet to check the color and discovered it was perfect! And only $12sf with free shipping - well under my budget. We had estimated needing 26sf, and the five boxes plus my .5sf sample put me close enough with careful usage. We ended up with about 2sf extra.The best thing about this style was that the backsplash on other side of my kitchen (not pictured) is about 18' long but only 2.5" tall. We used a combination of the widest and medium strips without cutting the height, which would have been a wet-saw nightmare with most other tiles.The difficult thing was not having worked with a natural stone before. The veins in the marble are very fragile and we broke several of them (a couple of them arrived broken, despite the sturdy shipping foam, and we broke a couple trying to pry them apart where the plastic paper slipped and allowed the sticky mesh backing to glue itself to the other tiles) but the beauty of the marble is that after grouting you can hardly see the breaks amongst the veins unless you know they are there and look for them really closely - and nobody is looking at mine closely because they're looking at the turtles anyway.For the record, the company was very prompt in answering my query and offered to send along replacement tiles if we needed them, which we didn't. I would be pleased to buy from them again if we need tiles elsewhere in the house.They are beautiful and I couldn't be happier!
