I've used Bostik's urethane grouts, (at that time branded as QuartzLock) for years, quite happily and with wonderful results. This is the first time using their products that I've felt compelled to call their customer service. I had to buy this grout online when I ran short almost all the way thru my bathroom tiling job. I wasn't able to buy more at Floor&Decor, (same product, different name: RapidCure) in the Bone color as they were out.So this grout purchased online appeared to be fine, lid was properly sealed, urethane sat on top pre-mixing per usual and the color was identical. BUT when I began troweling it on the wall, small white 'threads' appeared, looking a bit like dental floss.I ended up picking these things out of the grout endlessly, the bucket as I stirred and even the grout lines on the wall for those I missed. Took a LOT of extra time and effort and I was mystified as to what they were. Nothing in my work area was shedding.Guy at Bostik seemed unimpressed, saying it's possible the tub of grout had been subjected to severe cold? And that might have produced the threads. I saved several of the larger ones and offered to send him the pics but he wasn't interested. In fact, he was singularly DISinterested in my whole story.I called Bostik long ago to ask another question and they had great response so this was disappointing. Not to mention spending a not-teeny amount of money on grout which proved to be a major headache.I so loved Quartzlock. Did kitchens, showers, bathrooms, etc. with terrific tesults, no staining, flexibility, ease of application and waterproof-ness.So not sure about this. I hope they haven't messed with the formula or something.
