Home Depot and Lowes don't stock this vital nail for installing fencing pickets, they sell the pickets but not the nails to attach them.It is vital for time and speed of installation that you attach fencing pickets with a nail gun. Normal fencing pickets are 5/8 to 3/4 inchand the two by four that you attach them to is 11/2 inches. This is the reason for 2" nails so that the point does not come through on theother side. You need galvanized nails so that they don't rust and you definitely need the ring shank which is like screw threads to keep the pickets from coming loose.
