Gorgeous tile, and I think only one of 200 was cracked on arrival. (I didn't count them, last time they sent extra so it could have been 1/205.) I installed them myself & love the way they turned out. The color looks fantastic with my new sink. It will look even better after I refinish the cabinets. I'll be ordering more when I do the other half of the kitchen and the bathrooms.Just in case you arent familiar with talavera, it isnt uniform. You don't use spacers when installing, because you have to eyeball it against the tiles next to it. They are not all the same thickness, so if you want a perfectly flat countertop these aren't for you. I installed over plywood on concrete backer board since this is near the sink. I used some thinset mortar from a hardware store. Use a sanded grout & a sanded caulk for the joints that meet the backsplash or wall. I also installed talavera in my previous home and the counters held up well. I do take care not to scratch them when I set something hard like a cast iron pan. After 3 years on the old house they only had one chip from when a large bowl fell out of a cabinet.
