I enjoy the ease of metal platform beds, but am not a fan of buying one that has required rails, a headboard, and footboard in order to have it completely assembled. Not needing a box spring is so beneficial for me.Since I don't want to be locked into a style of headboard, rails, and a footboard, I look for free standing platform frames in which I can easily change my headboard to match my decor, if I do choose.I picked this one because it states it has holes in the frame to attach a headboard. I did purchase a queen headboard, however, only one side could be connected.I am not sure where the difference is that does not allow for the queen headboard to attach to this frame -- whether the holes on the frame are simply further apart than a traditional queen size headboard OR if it is the headboard being smaller than a traditional queen size bed. I mention this simply to prepare anyone who purchased this frame might need to make some adaptions for a headboard to actually attach to the frame. Again, I'm not sure if the frame is larger than traditional queen size or the headboard is smaller than traditional queen size, but it is worth being prepared for.Other than the headboard frustration, I like the frame. I've moved it several times with the mattress on it trying to attach the headboard and there has not been any lossening of parts.
